The eBay Hula!!

eBay Australia are a pack of liars. They are using Australia as guinea pigs. Here is their latest scam. They must think we're dummies or something. Here is the link to a hidden forum where ebay has moved all the posts to. The link is not widely publicised. The posts are being taken out of the main forum area and put over there. Many are being removed as well that mention OZtion.

http://forums.ebay.com.au/forum.jspa?forumID=500000001

Here's my little poem about OZtion I made up in response to someone elses. If you mention OZtion you also get a slap from what they call a PINK - the people from ebay that troll the forums and send you a warning email re suspension if you keep that up.

Open discussion and trading
Zany people and lots of fun
Terrific buys to be had
Instant help from admin
Obviously better than here
Never lets you down if you're a try-er

Here are the changes to eBay Australia by June 17 2008:

We're making it safer for all our members to trade on eBay.com.au. To ensure members use only the most secure payment methods, it will soon be required to offer PayPal on all listings on eBay.com.au.

When will this occur?
Changes will be introduced in two stages:

  1. All items listed for sale on eBay.com.au on or after 21 May 2008 must offer PayPal as one of the payment methods.
  2. All items appearing on eBay.com.au as of 17 June 2008 must be paid for using one of the following:
    1. PayPal
    2. Pay on pick up (i.e. paid for when picking up the item)
    3. Visa/MasterCard (with transactions processed by PayPal).

No other payment methods will be permitted.

STINKERS! I won't be selling there anymore and I've transfered all my PayPal money back over to my bank. Fancy telling sellers how to treat their buyers while taking away all choice. It's not even the sellers who are deciding to take this course of action.

Rick Amor Australia Painter extraordinaire!

This afternoon I watched a show on ABC1 about the painter Rick Amor. I finally found his page online after a bit of searching:

Rick Amor Exhibition - Niagara Galleries Melbourne

Can you see the child in the tree?

I love his work - dark and moody. Wonderful!!

Pixel Art! Take it or leave it...

I do NOT do pixel art the right way. I don't confess to be a Correct Pixellar. I work fast and that's what I prefer. Yes I have my brushes set right and anti-aliasing off but I just want to have some fun. I guess my personality is to be a bit macabre in my humour and go against the rules a bit. Anyway, here's a house I did real fast. Oh what fun!!

The China Whiner!

For some reason today I am bored out of my brain. Now I don't often get bored, in fact it's a rarity. But for some reason I have this antsy feeling. We're going out for dinner tonight - looking forward to it. Chinese student is away at the coast - thank God!! I'm over it.

In fact I'm not too happy about the Chinese at all at the moment. I'm sick and tired of what they're doing in Tibet and I'm sorry but I'm excited about the way the torch relay is being hampered by demonstrations. A bit of excitement never hurt anyone although it looks like some might be getting hurt but I bet they think it's for a good cause. If I was young and fit and in London I'd be right there on the street with them.

I wonder what the Chinese govt is thinking. China is an interesting country. Personally I think govts and people are far too lacksidaisical in their dealings with China. I think we need to be careful, and I've heard as much said about that listening to the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Coorporation NOT USA). In my dealings with students I've found that there's a deceptive side to them - not knowing the language we never quite know where we're up to with them. Maybe the Chinese people and their govt think this is an advantage? Mandarin etc is extremely hard to learn.

Next time we have a student I'm going to say, Yes I can understand the language but can't speak it. My sister does that when she has foreigners staying at her home.

I've found too that there's an extreme lack of interest in our country from the students. They are here to get what they want and even if it ends up being in business, the motivation is still to make MONEY MONEY MONEY. And they're good at it. A Chinese chap I know puts things on eBay for one dollar and the auction goes for one hundred. They are clever. The students we've had here and not at all interested in looking out the window at our country while they're driving along in the car. They plug in their phones and iPods and go off to sleep, don't speak to us at all. To me that's strange (and rude) when you've only been in the country 2 weeks.

Anyway, I'm off to get ready for dinner out. Hallelujah!!! And the above is not a knee jerk reaction. I've been pondering this stuff for years. Back for some more pondering in a few days.

Just found out a couple of nights ago that Henk my brother-in-law has an aneurysm on the brain. He has been having headaches and vision problems. The doc thought it was glaucoma but an MRI has shown up an aneurysm.

Now I have 2 brothers-in-law with serious illness. Charles' cancer prognosis is not good at all. He now has chemo-saturation and is in a bad way
